Meet… Dearest Deer

Despite being fairly new on the blogging scene, Dunya over at Dearest Deer has fast become one of our favourites. We had a chat with the girl herself, so read on to find out more about the girl behind the blog…

Ok, first up who is ‘Dearest Deer’?
My name is Dunya, I’m 21, and a third year student studying International Relations at Sussex University, living in Brighton and occasionally popping back home to Surrey in between!
How long have you been blogging, and what made you want to start it in the first place?
Blogging has been relatively new for me, I started around June/July of 2012, feeling very inspired since the start of 2012 by my friend Carrie and her blog WishWishWish! Seeing the way she told stories through beautiful photography and words got me into looking at other blogs and, before I knew it, I’d bought myself a camera and was plotting my own blog design!
What inspires your blog posts?
I’ve always liked the idea of capturing something in a photo, and I try to make my posts as much about where I am as what I’m wearing. At the start I did some straight up outfit posts but I think the inspiration has to be drawn from where I am at the time too, so I like to look for new places that can compliment my look and vice versa!
How would you describe your style?
It’s a bit of two things, on one side probably very typically girly; I like bows, velvet, polka dotted anything, but I also like my fair share of  masculine things, tailored trousers, brogues. The fun is mixing it all up! And it’s safe to say anything Alexa Chung and Zooey Deschanel/Jess wear are all inspirational!
What three items can you not live without?
I have a life-saving (by life I mean hair) hooded camel coat from Zara I received for my 20th birthday which, in our weather, I am so grateful for! My black denim American Apparel circle skirt saves the day when I feel like nothing else will match, and a very long-lasting pair of black suede topshop ankle boots from two years ago is my go-to when I want a low heel that will look nice but still be comfortable.
What do you get up to when you’re not blogging?
A lot of my time is spent in front of my laptop, studying for my seminars! But when I’m away from my laptop I try to make the most of visiting charity shops nearby, spending time with fellow bloggers in London, and popping back home to Surrey.
Tell us something no one else knows about you…
I have a little dent on my top left cheek from an almost-fatal accident when I was 6. Look out for it in my next post!
And lastly, what’s your favourite thing about Winter?
Coming home from the cold, chucking all things wet or damp to the side, and putting the kettle on!

Meet….. Wish Wish Wish

Here at Cellardoor, we love nothing more than pretty dresses, days spent trawling through little knick knack stores and wishing we lived in a more elegant era. So, when we uncovered Carrie’s blog we knew she was a girl after our own hearts. We love her use of dreamy photographs [mostly taken by her super talented beau] and discovering her unique vintage finds. She’s also got a dress collection that makes us go weak at the knees, and extremely green with envy. Read on to find out a little more about the girl herself…

Ok, first up who is Carrie? I‘m a 20 year old dreamer/fashion promotion student living in London with a love for vintage and all things twee!

How long have you been blogging, what made you want start it in the first place? I began when I was 17, so nearly 3 years ago now! I loved creating websites and read lots of blogs so it seemed natural to create one of my own. I decided I wanted to take more photos and document my life like other blogs..and it went from there.

What inspires your blog posts? Collars, dresses, chunky shoes, pastel colours, bows, handbags, old books, pretty prints, berets and beehives! I just post about the things I love, whether it’s something i’ve bought & worn, a lookbook, a wishlist, or even a feeling.

How would you describe your style? I always hate answering this question as I feel my style is always changing. At the moment it’s all very 60s inspired, with mini shift dresses and big shoes. I tend to play it safe but that’s because I know what I like and what suits me. Breton stripes, satchels, brogues and bowler hats!

What three items can you not live without? I’m going to be terribly materialistic and say my Mulberry Alexa, my laptop and my camera!

What do you get up to when you’re not blogging? If it was up to me, i’d be hanging out with my besties exploring National Trust houses and eating lots of cake! In reality, I spend a lot of time replying to emails and getting on with my university!

Tell us something no one else knows about you… I’m a huge monkey and ape lover! I visit the rescue centre Monkey World every year for my birthday and practially know all of their names!

And lastly as the Winter issue is about to be released, what’s your favourite
thing about this season? Wearing coats! I’m a coat fiend, I have far too many but can’t help but buy new ones. I have quite a growing collection!
