Rookie Road Trip

Tavi Gevinson is one cool girl. Not content with being a blogger and founder of Rookie Magazine, This Summer she took to the open road with her pals, and completed a 16 city tour of America in search of readers and kindred spirits. Ingenuously dubbed ‘The Rookie Road Trip’ and sponsored by Urban Outfitters, Tavi and co. started in the Big Apple on June 25th and ended in LA on July 21st stopping off at various locations along the way to meet and greet fans.

Using #rookieroadtrip, social media played a vital role in updating followers of their going on’s. Everyone’s favourite camera, Instagram, gave a vintage feel to Tavi’s photos and allowed this excellent marketing venture to reach out to the uber cool crew.

Whether you’re off to Scarborough or Southend, you too can create your own photo diary with a retro quality. Urban Outfitters and Lomography.com sell a selection of super stylish and quirky cameras including Fish-Eye, Diana F+, Polaroid, Pinhole, La Sardina and Disposable – there’s one for everyone!

Some of the best apps for smartphones can make you feel like the next top photographer for less than £2. Word of warning: Prepare to be addicted!

Picture Perfect

Now the nights are drawing in and Winter is fast approaching, we tend to spend more and more time cosying up in our houses- usually under a blanket with a hot chocolate on the go. So looking out for beautiful knick-knacks to brighten up our abodes has become an absolute must…..

Our most recent discovery are these cute Polaroid coasters from ‘Just Noey’. Created by illustrator/designer Parul Arora from London, these ceramic coasters will give any home a touch of retro charm… we’re in love.

This is our favourite…
